The 10th annual Blue Ridge Chili Cook-off is just around the corner on Saturday February 15th. This is the annual Winter festival come rain or shine. Last year it was a very nice day with warmer than normal temperatures. We hope for the same or better conditions this year. Bring your family and friends and enjoy a fun day in the park. It’s fun to taste all the yummy chilis from local and professional chefs, while watching the ninja chainsaw-wielding professionals carve up incredible sculptures of ice in the city park. This year the event has been expanded from Chili Cook-off and Ice Sculpture to now include a Beer Festival. Come try some craft brews and beers from local breweries.
Mark your calendars for entertainment, live music, ice sculptures and amazing chili! An added spice to our festival this year is our line up of chili judges. The first of five Judges to be announced is Richard Noah Sims, our local, homegrown MasterChef contestant. Entrance is free but you’ll need to Buy a $10 Tasting Card to sample the competition and vote for the People’s Choice Award. Tasting cards will be sold from 11 am to 2:30 pm. All People’s Choice votes MUST be turned in by 3 pm.
