F.A.Q
A Bed & Breakfast offers a much more comfortable stay, a hot home-cooked meal and friendly personalized service you won’t get with a big chain hotel. While many of the amenities may be similar, your experience at a B&B will be much more pleasant and memorable. You also get the experience of staying in a uniquely designed room in an historic home in the middle of town.
No, all rooms have private baths. The bathrooms in the upstairs rooms are a bit smaller than the bathrooms on the main level of the house.
We offer both scheduled check-in and self check-in. When booking online you will be prompted to choose one or the other (they are both equally popular with our guests).
SCHEDULED CHECK-IN: we are often running errands in the afternoon, so we kindly ask that you let us know what time you will be arriving so that we can greet you and help get you situated at the inn. You are welcome to arrive between noon-6pm, just give us a heads up as to what time you will get in, please. By noon each day, we will text or call to let you know that your room is ready and you are welcome to arrive. If you have mobility issues and would prefer help with your luggage, please let us know your arrival time so that we may assist.
SELF CHECK-IN: we will email you instructions with a lockbox code. The lockboxes are by the door on the back porch. You will punch in the code for your room, retrieve your key and follow the directions to your room. We will send out the instructions as soon as your room is ready (by noon each day) along with a text to alert you. If you are arriving after 6pm, we will send you self check-in information.
Check-out is 11am.
Limited free on-site parking is available on a first come basis. There is also plenty of free parking across the street at City Hall.
Most of the time, we do not have a minimum required stay. During holidays, some weekends and the month of October, we do have a two night minimum.
Normal check-out is at 11am. If you need access to your room later, we can offer late check-out for an additional fee based on availability. Because of high occupancy, it is not always available
All of the entrances to the Inn have stairs, but we do have several rooms on the first floor. We recommend anyone having difficulty with stairs to book the Rose Room, Sycamore or Appalachian. They are on the 1st floor and easiest to get to. The Rose is at the front of the house and has its own parking spot.
Due to health department regulations, our main kitchen is off limits to guests. We do have a guest refrigerator in the kitchen which you can use to store anything you need to keep refrigerated.
We understand that changes to your travel plans may occur. If you find that you need to cancel your reservation, we ask that you let us know at least five days before your scheduled check in day. If you cancel within the five day window, we reserve the right to charge for one night’s stay. Cleaning fees: If evidence of smoking, pets, glitter/confetti or vomit is found in your room, we reserve the right to charge a $150 cleaning fee.
Our Inn is located right in the heart of downtown Blue Ridge. All the restaurants and shops are within walking distance. However, if you need a ride anywhere in downtown, to shop, dine or just sightsee, we have a shuttle service called the Blue Ridge Runner. Just let any of the staff know that you need a ride, and we will have them pick you up. More information is available at BlueRidgeRunner.com
Rooms can only accommodate two people, while a suite can
accommodate up to two additional guests for a total of 4. The Lodge can accommodate up to 6 guests with the pull-out sofa and two king beds.
We welcome your pet to stay with us in The Lodge. The Lodge is our largest room and is the only room at this time able to accommodate pets. For $35/day you may bring one dog weighing 35 pounds or less. We just ask that you are responsible for your pet and respectful of our property and other guests. Here are a few rules:
Due to allergy concerns, we do not allow cats to stay in our rooms.
Dogs are not to be left unattended in the rooms.
Dogs must be leashed or under control at all times. Any unruly pets that cannot be controlled will not be able to stay. This includes incessant barking, damaging property, and aggressive behavior.
There is a dog waste station in the backyard, down the steps from the screened patio off of The Lodge. We expect guests to clean up after their pet and properly dispose of any waste.
All well-behaved properly leashed dogs are welcome on our porches. Any aggressive or barking dogs (and their owners) will be asked to leave. Our front and back porches are places for everyone to enjoy comfortably.
Service animals who meet the ADA requirements are allowed.
Yes, we do. Even though we do not sell or supply alcohol, you’re welcome to bring your own. If bringing your own alcoholic beverages, we supply glasses, corkscrew, ice, and guest fridge for your convenience. Glasses and corkscrew are located on the sideboard of the dining room.
We gladly accept all major credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover. We also accept our gift certificates, cash and Venmo.
We can usually guarantee early check-in with a $20 fee. Otherwise, we will let you know that your room is ready by noon daily.
Gift certificates are a wonderful gift for family and friends. We offer them at any monetary level you want. Due to seasonal pricing changes and the many customized options available, we issue the certificates for a set amount to be applied to a reservation rather than specifying a particular room and date applicable
